Actions
ACTIONS
This factor is all about doing. Behaving. Taking action. As opposed to the latent variables noted above, this factor is all about observable behavior. Actions are the objective “stuff” we can see, hear, count, and measure. There’s no black box here with this Action factor. If it’s not involving the behavior of the Leader, it’s not in this factor.
For the Action factor, what’s inside a leader doesn’t really matter. While the leader’s head, heart and gut drive behavior, those Black Box factors are not considered here. If there’s no translation from the Black Box into action, what’s the point, many would say? This Action factor might best be described as the “just do it” factor. Or the “just did it” factor. Maybe Forest Gump said it best, “Stupid is as stupid does.” By extension, “A leader is as a leader does.”
